A bleak day on Rannoch Moor in January. it was snowing most of the day. I took this image inbetween snow showers. I had found these small lochans on the OS map about 20 minutes walk from the road. I liked the old bogwood stumps in the frozen lochan, they give an almost primeval sense to the image. The drama of the scene seemed suited to black and white and I toned it in blue which I feel raises the chill factor!
